Police apprehends target killer in Karachi

KARACHI: A gang of hired killers was exposed in Karachi as the Central District Police on Friday arrested the target killer Javed alias Langra. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central Maroof Usman announced the arrest of target killer while addressing a press conference in the metropolis. Three murders in Karachi turned out to be target killings, the accused has confessed to killing three people in Rizvia Society along with other members of the target killer group. The accused has also admitted that he used to work for Arshad alias Mamu, the leader of Target Killer Group.

Maroof Usman also revealed that target killer apprehended with the help of taking all possible technical measures including the CCTV footages. The suspect was apprehended from Rizvia society near Nazimabad area of Karachi. According to SSP Central, Javed alias Langra was arrested after chasing the killers of Ibrahim Shaikh, who was killed in Rizvia Society on June 4. Moreover, the investigation revealed two more incidents. Firstly, Jamshed Alam was killed in Preedy Electronic Market. “When the arrested suspect’s associate - Bahadur alias Faisal - was arrested, Jamshed Alam’s drive identified him,” police official told media persons. During the investigation, Javed Langra revealed that the driver - who testified and identified Bahadur - was later killed in Bufferzone. The suspect further said that money were received for each targeted killing, police said. The target killer committed 11 robberies from January 1 to August 31, 2020 in various areas of Karachi, SSP central added. SSP Maroof further said that what were the motives and objectives of these incidents of target killing will be known after the arrest of Arshad alias Mamu, adding that the teams have been formed to arrest him.
