PMSA, Customs Enforcement nab several narcotic smugglers in operations

Karachi: In an anti-smuggling drive against narco smugglers, Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) and Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Karachi jointly conducted counter narcotics intelligence based operations in Arabian Sea during last 5 days. During operations, narco smuggling of worth approximately Rs 3 billion in International market was averted. Around 15 smugglers along with their boats were apprehended and handed over to Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Karachi for further Interrogation.
During these operations, smugglers of one boat set on fire their boat and jumped into sea. Boat sank however, smugglers and some quantity of narco were recovered from sea.
In last three weeks PMSA in anti narco operations averted approximately worth Rs 8.0 billion narco smuggling. Some 21 smugglers were also apprehended during these operations.
Successful operation by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency and Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Karachi resulting in seizure of large quantity of narcotics is testament to fact that departments are vigilant and remain committed in preventing use of Pakistani waters for any unlawful act/purposes.
