PML-N seeks ‘guarantee’, PTI-govt stalemate not ends

ISLAMABAD: Deadlock 'persists' between government and opposition over backdoor dialogue as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz seeks 'guarantee'. Deadlock was reported in backdoor negotiations between incumbent government and opposition over 'guarantee'.
"PML-N is seeking 'guarantee' that whatever is decided will be accepted by Imran Khan," sources quoted. Pakistan Peoples' Party has also become active to end deadlock. Negotiations will be held between both government and opposition after assurance of 'guarantee', as both, sides are lacking trust in each other, sources said. On Monday, PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to hold talks with opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf saying that nation cannot afford any odd situation.
Sources said major political parties in governmnet and PPP is also intending to take initiative in order to avoid furthering of current political and economic environment in country. It is said that backdoor dialogue at present is only one of pivotal instrumnet to melt down heating-up atmosphere and unrest in country. Political pandits opined that parley between government and oppostion (PTI) sould be a viable tool to reach on an agreement for easing prevailing political tension in country. They said that country is facing multifacet issues including economic meltdown, political uncertainty, inflation and terrorism threaths and under such situation dialogue is only way out for government and opposition to salvage country fron current quagmire.
A day earlier former President and Pakistan Peoples' Party co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to hold talks with opposition party-Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf saying that nation cannot afford any odd situation. “I will request PM Shehbaz Sharif to hold talks with opposition and set no conditions before they begin talks,” Asif Zardari said while addressing Convention on Golden Jubilee Celebrations of 1973 Constitution.
It is to be noted government continued with its “agenda”, through the Ministry of Law proposed a bill for the curtailment of powers of the CJP in a “hurry without adopting the due course of law and in violation of Article 70 (1 and 4) of the Constitution”. It stated that the bill was presented to the president for his assent but was sent for reconsideration by Alvi because it “was against the above-said Constitutional provisions”.
