PM&DC instructs educational institutions to accommodate Gaza’s medical students

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has written to the medical universities to accommodate Gaza national medical students for their clinical internship at Pakistan medical and dental colleges and hospitals.  

The registrar PM&DC has written a letter to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Rawalpindi Medical University, Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University and Foundation University Medical College Islamabad in this regard. It said, “In reference to the ongoing situation in the war-torn Palestinian territory of Gaza and destruction of most of the medial education institutions leaving Gaza with no system in place to ensure that its medical students can complete their education. In view of these circumstances, several Gaza national medical and dental students are eager to continue the education and gain clinical experience in a safe and conducive environment.” It said, “the PM&DC with the guidance of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as humanitarian gesture had decided to extend cooperation to help these Gaza students to enable them to complete their clinical internship in recognized hospital of Pakistan.
