LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that it was responsibility of elected coalition government to ensure stability in country and they would not allow anyone to create political and economic crises.
Referring to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s long march, he reiterated that any wrong attempt to enter Red Zone would be thwarted under relevant laws.
During his interaction with UTubers, prime minister said that PTI’s leader Imran Niazi had sole personal agenda and he was hell-bent on pushing country into turmoil and economic destruction for achievement of his vested interests.
“Expect everything from person. Unfortunately, Imran Niazi’s thinking revolves around his personal vested interests. Even he did not spare his close friends who were sidelined,” he added.
He observed that PTI’s leader even did not spare institution that had been rendering unmatched sacrifices for protection of motherland and was out to malign it to pleasure of enemies of Pakistan including India. India was now portraying him (IK) as their hero, he added.
He said that unfortunately, once again a long march and sit-in was announced by PTI’s leadership when he would be visiting China and recollected that during Chinese President Xi’s visit in 2013 similar sit-in was staged, adding dirty clothes were hanged on premises of buildings in red zone and roads were littered with garbage.
Then Chinese Ambassador met PTI Chief and requested him to vacate place for few days during visit, but he refused. For seven months, visit was postponed which had also shaken trust of country’s friends, he added. He said that during their rule, not a single penny corruption could be proved, whereas in PTI’s tenure, through sugar and wheat scams, people made from windfall. Low-priced gas during Covid period was not imported.
“What kind of relief PTI’s Chief had provided to masses?” he questioned and said that there could be no two opinions that Imran Niazi had ‘narcissist agenda’. In past, he had inflicted irreparable loss to country which was not relevant to him considering his personal agenda. He said that coalition government was grappling with issues of unemployment and price hike worsened by rising global oil prices.
Expressing his displeasure over haughty attitude of former prime minister, he said that Imran Niazi even did not like to shake hands with his political opponents in Parliament. Whether they had approached him when PTI’s government made amendment over Army Chief, he said. He told messenger that he was ready for a dialogue to avoid crises and to discuss charters of economy and democracy.
Appointment of new Army Chief was a constitutional matter and he told messenger point-blank that he would not hold consensus with Imran, he said. Under Tosha Khana rules, he had to deposit these valuable gifts as prime minister and could purchase from there under set procedure, he said.
