ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored need to strengthen institutions for eradicating corruption from country by following golden principles of Islam and ensuring supremacy of law.
In his message on World Corruption Day, he said that this Day marks renewal of our pledge to root out this scourge as it is major obstacle in way of development and prosperity of any country and leads to its economic and administrative destruction.
He emphasised need for doing away with practice of using corruption as tool for political victimisation. Prime Minister regretted that previous government jailed political opponents on basis of frivolous corruption allegations.
Terming corruption as major national issue, Prime Minister said instead of merely using it for political sloganeering and point scoring, serious efforts should be made for its eradication. He urged all political circles to prepare clear roadmap to get rid of corruption.
