RAWALPINDI: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed that development projects, particularly those relating to health and education, must not be politicised and be implemented in best interest of general public. During his visit to Rawalpindi Institute of Urology and Transplantation (RIUT), he said no one should be allowed to politicise projects of any government. Shehbaz Sharif said it was time to get united for proper implementation of Constitution of country.

He expressed satisfaction with successful completion of first phase of hospital where patients were being provided best medical treatment in areas of dialysis, kidney ailments and surgeries.

He lauded Punjab administration of health for effectively carrying out operationalisation of hospital and appreciated doctors and nurses for their dedication.

He mentioned that Rs 5 billion were spent on RIUT so far and recalled that he laid foundation stone of hospital in 2012. He regretted that previous government delayed project, which otherwise could have been made operational much earlier.

PM Sharif said an allegation put against him by former Chief Justice of Supreme Court halted work on kidney and liver transplant hospital in Lahore. He said such discouragement of development and social work badly impacted provision of civic facilities for general public. He said serving masses was noble work that needed synchronised effort by all stakeholders.

He took round of various sections of RIUT and inquired about health of patients. He also instructed administration to leave no stone unturned in providing best medical facilities to patients.
