PM Shehbaz telephones Sri Lanka President, discuss current economic situation

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif telephoned Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and discussed with him matters relating to current economic situation of both countries. He thanked Sri Lankan President for supporting Pakistan with regard to country's agreement with International Monetary Fund.
"You have played role of true friend and well-wisher of Pakistan and I thank you on behalf of people of my country," Prime Minister told Lankan President. He paid tributes to Sri Lanka for its role in promoting regional peace and development. He hoped that both Pakistan and Sri Lanka would come out of economic crisis very soon.
Sri Lankan President congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for reaching staff level agreement with IMF. He thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for expressing good wishes for his country.
Lankan President appreciated struggle and efforts by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during difficult economic situation in Pakistan. Sri Lankan President had stressed IMF to help Pakistan saving from default as Sri Lanka had to face very tough situation after falling into default.
