PM Shehbaz Sharif expresses satisfaction over ‘decline in inflation rate’

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his satisfaction over “Decline in inflation rates and improvement” in economic indicators as reported by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. Reacting to latest data, he highlighted that Consumer Price Index saw record decrease in July 2024, bringing inflation rate down to 11 percent. He said: “Economic experts have predicted further reduction in inflation in September, which is positive sign for country’s economy. He also pointed out that following Fitch, Moody’s had upgraded Pakistan’s credit rating, recognition of country’s improving economic indicators by international financial institutions.

PM Shehbaz expressed his resolve that government is steadfastly pursuing economic reforms and actively working on right-sizing policy, which he is personally overseeing. He assured that positive impacts of reforms will soon be evident in economy.

He mentioned that both federal and Punjab government had provided significant relief to electricity consumers through billing adjustments.  Acknowledging challenges faced by public, PM Sharif affirmed that government is working tirelessly to address their difficulties and resolve their issues.
