PM Shehbaz pays tribute to NFRCC officials for minimising floods impact

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to services rendered by National Flood Response Coordination Centre during unprecedented floods that wreaked havoc all over country.

Addressing ceremony at PM House in honour of NFRCC officers, he commended coordination between NFRCC, provincial governments, armed forces and National Disaster Management Authority to deal with homogenous challenge posed by floods. He highlighted how every available resource was utilised during flood to help victims, adding that efforts were underway to cope with devastating impact of floods.

"All relevant departments worked tirelessly during relief phase and expressed confidence to overcome this challenge." He emphasised united efforts on all fronts to steer country out of all challenges.

"We have model in front of us to cope with flood situation," prime minister said. "There is need to further fine it without any further delay to prepare ourselves and save country from future disasters."

He appreciated work of Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb for highlighting plight of flood victims at home and abroad.

Talking about natural resources of country and how they should be benefitted from, PM said Reko Diq possessed gold and copper resources to tune of billions of dollars.

"For many years we haven't been able to dig out even a kilo of gold or copper but lost billions of dollars during case." He expressed hope that country will overcome this challenge one day.

It must be mentioned here that entire world contributed to help Pakistan in time of natural calamity which left countless countrymen homeless. An exorbitant amount and huge quantity of relief goods were dispatched to Pakistan from different countries to help the suffering humanity whose lives got shattered to a higher extent during the catastrophic floods in Pakistan.
