PM Shehbaz hails Norway's recognition of Palestine as bold move

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in telephonic call with Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre said he appreciated Norway's decision to recognise State of Palestine in wake of Israel's atrocious military aggression.

"I welcomed recent ICJ decision ordering Israel to halt its heinous actions in Gaza and Rafah," PM Shehbaz said to Norwegian premier. 

Both Norway and Pakistan firmly believe that UN-backed two-state solution offers best path to lasting peace in Middle East, premier said.

Shehbaz Sharif hoped this bold and principled decision by Norway, Spain and Ireland would encourage other countries to follow suit in recognising statehood of Palestine."

We hope international community pays similar attention to plight of brave, innocent Kashmiris who are also facing brutal occupation," PM Shehbaz Sharif said.

Meanwhile, Qatari Ambassador believed that Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, expressing acceptance of invitation to visit Pakistan, while Kuwaiti Ambassador also showed same gesture that Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, conveying same.

Analysts believe that visits of emirs of Qatar and Kuwait will further enhance bilateral relations and cooperation, particularly in investment and other sectors.
