PM Shehbaz finalises 5-year economic road map

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed authorities concerned to ensure implementation of all projects for stability of national economy.
Premier issued these directions while chairing high-level meeting here to review 5-year economic roadmap for development of country.
During meeting, economic roadmap for next five years with focus on reducing inflation, alleviating poverty and providing employment was presented.
Prime Minister said all stakeholders of different sectors of economy should be consulted for implementation of this plan. He emphasised action on priority basis to develop agriculture, livestock, technology, foreign investment and small and large scale industries.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed confidence that during next five years, country’s economy will be stabilised and put on path of development. He said government will reduce its spending and public money will not be wasted.
Prime Minister said modernisation and innovation in different fields especially agriculture will increase revenues and per acre yield. He said that loss-making State Owned Enterprises will be privatised on priority basis.
PM Shehbaz directed officials concerned to formulate comprehensive plan after consulting all stakeholders on proposed measures for development of economy.
Meeting was briefed about measures related to power, agriculture, livestock, export sector, small and medium scale industry, taxation, Information Technology, investment and privatisation.
