PM Shehbaz directs immediate rainwater draining measures

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif taking notice of flooding in Lahore following heavy rains directing provincial and district authorities to immediately take rainwater drainage measures.
Taking notice of problems faced by dwellers of Lahore, prime minister directed relevant authorities to remain alert in situation arising out of current rainy spell, PM Office Media Wing said in press release. No leniency should be shown in addressing public issues and grievances, it was further added. Authorities were tasked to continuously monitor situation with prompt measures in place. PM Shehbaz stressed that considering situation, alternate routes should be timely identified for smooth vehicular traffic. Similarly, in other parts of country, he directed for adoption of safety measures during rainy spells and called upon provincial and district administrations to save people from any trouble with their joint collaboration.
Meanwhile, Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi directed provincial administration, Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Rescue 1122 and Water and Sanitation Agency to stay alert for next 24 hours due to heavy rains.
