ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif berated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan over his foreign conspiracy narrative.

Taking to Twitter he said, “Nation is shocked by his deceit and treachery inflicting irreparable damage on Pakistan”. “Imran’s interview with FT in which he rebutted his foreign conspiracy theory is a reminder of vicious role he played to harm Pakistan’s external relations while pursuing his own petty politics, added PM. Meanwhile, 27th meeting of Conference of Parties (COP) of United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC) Pakistan has very strong case to present at COP27, as we continue to suffer aftermath of catastrophic floods to have stuck country this summer.

Pakistani delegation at COP27 is being led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and like 1992 Earth Summit, Pakistan is leading largest and most influential G-77 bloc in climate negotiations under UN framework.

According to World Bank figures, disaster resulted in total financial losses of an estimated $ 40 billion.  Pakistan is not in a position to effectively address third component of Paris Agreement, which pertains to climate change adaptation and mitigation.
