ISLAMABAD: Former President and Pakistan Peoples’ Party co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari telephoned Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. During talks, country’s overall political and economic situation came under discussion.
Telephonic conversation came after ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz decided to mediate between Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan and Pakistan Peoples’ Party over delimitation issue.
Sources privy to development told that MQM-Pakistan has expressed serious concerns over non-implementation of agreement signed with Centre and Sindh government. Sources said MQM-Pakistan has cleared PML-N that holding Local Body elections without new delimitations in Karachi would be meaningless. Party also complained that PPP-led Sindh government had not amended Local Government Act. Sources revealed that senior leaders from PML-N have contacted Asif Ali Zardari to convey him reservations of MQM-P over delimitations.
