PM says Imran 'out to undermine Pakistan'

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif criticised economic policies of previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government and said Imran Khan is out to "undermine Pakistan".
Referring to two news stories published in British weekly The Economist, premier said the international publication had "validated" what government had been saying regarding PTI's handling of economy.
He said Magazine had stated that former premier "blew up" IMF deal and Imran was "exploiting disaster to score political points". Senior leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz have also criticised Imran, accusing him of doing divisive politics amid devastating floods in self-serving interest.
Earlier, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail claimed that former PTI government was leading country towards default and PML-N government under leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif saved it from bankruptcy.
He said that Imran-led government "broke agreement it had itself negotiated with International Monetary Fund".
Miftah also claimed that deal with global lender was delayed by previous government and that too was poorly negotiated.
