PM, responsible persons should be disqualified for five years: Aitzaz Ahsan

ISLAMABAD: PPP leader and leading lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan has said responsible persons including Prime Minister should be disqualified for five years.

“Supreme Court (SC) should summon Prime Minister Law Minister, Interior Minister and Election Commission (EC). Court should ask as to why they should not be punished for disobeying SC orders, he said this in statement issued here.

He held if punishment is awarded to them then they will become disqualified for five years. He went on to say we have swallowed money of four generations. It is laid down in Constitution that election should be held in 90 days, he said. SC has to implement law and Constitution.

If elections are not held then PM, Law Minister and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah will be responsible.

He underlined Rana Sanaullah said elections will not be allowed to be held on May 14. He observed SC should summon PM, Rana, Azam Nazir Tarar and EC and seek explanation from them with regard to their statements. If they accept they have insulted court’s orders then they should be punished. Responsible persons including PM should be de-seated for five years, he added.
