LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday laid the foundation stone of three new industrial zones in Lahore and Sheikhupura. Addressing the ceremony of laying the foundation stone of three new industrial zones in Lahore and Sheikhupura, the prime minister said the private sector had shown interest in the construction of economic zones.

He said there should be no real estate business in industrial zones adding, unfortunately, many industrial zones including Faisalabad, Rishkai etc were being misused on a large scale and developers had encroached there, even though they were economic zones mentioning clearly that the people involved in this were committing misconduct. The PM clarified that real estate should be done in areas suitable to this sort of business mentioning the dealers should build high-rise buildings with passion but it should be done in the right place and not in the industrial zone.

The PM further said that the narrative of Pakistan's default had been buried and the caretaker government would come next month while hoping the caretaker government would work for the improvement of the economy. Earlier, the chief executive laid the foundation stone of three special economic zones in Lahore and Sheikhupura, Omber Special Economic Zone, Sundar Green Zone, Smart Special Economic Zone and also signed the plaques of the projects.
