PM promises 'good news' for nation on electricity price soon

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that people are facing hardships due to high electricity bills and government will take steps to give them 'good news' soon.

Addressing ceremony in connection with Independence Day celebrations, he said that government will soon share good news with nation regarding reduction in electricity prices. "We will present five-year economic soon," he said. He said that currently electricity bills is biggest concern of every household, adding that without reducing electricity tariffs, Pakistan's industry, agricutlture and exports could not grow. "Government is working day and night to resolve issue," he said assuring that in few days the government will give nation good news of significant cut in electricity tariffs. He announced to address nation in few days in which he would possibly present five-year economic plan.Congratulating nation on 77th Pakistan Independence Day, he urged people especially youth to support government in its efforts to make country, prosperous, stable and peaceful. He said youth were bright future of country who could play their role in country's development. "Next few years are crucial for you and country, so only focus on your studies and attaining skilled-based education and do not indulge yourself in negative agenda of enemy who is out to target you and utilize your capabilities in anti-state activities," he added. He said enemy is now using digital terrorism tools to sabotage country's development journey.
