ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised security forces for arresting one of most high-profile militant leaders Gulzar Imam Shambay head of outlawed Baloch National Army. In twitter message, PM Shehbaz Sharif congratulated nation after arrest of outlawed BNA head Gulzar Imam Shambay. He said, “My appreciation to Security Forces for their untiring efforts to restore peace.” He said that Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) deserves nation’s highest commendation for carrying out, with great sophistication, first of its kind and most complex intelligence operations involving various geographical locations. He added that Pakistan, especially Balochistan, are well on way to peace and prosperity.

PM Sharif said that Shambay admitted that he was on wrong path of extremism and asked Baloch extremists to choose peaceful path. PM said that Shambay sought pardon from nation and government and surrendered himself.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister directed his economic team to provide maximum relief to common man in budget 2023-24. Presiding over meeting to review budget 2023-24 preparations, he ordered to take every possible step to facilitate middle and lower income segments of society. During meeting, economic team briefed PM about budget preparation besides revised targets of tax collection for current fiscal year and proposed targets for next fiscal year. Expressing satisfaction over performance on economic front, he said, due to better economic policies, country’s current account balance turned to surplus after several years. He expressed satisfaction over declining trend in urea fertilizer prices saying that it became possible only due to government timely action.
