PM pays glowing tributes to journalists across world

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid glowing tributes to journalists across world, particularly those in Pakistan, for commendable work they are doing to inform and educate people.

In his tweet on World Press Freedom Day, he said that environment in which journalists work is often full of challenges and risks and yet they never falter in their responsibility.

Prime Minister said that watchdog role of journalism has helped ideas of democracy and transparent governance evolve.

Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif left for London to attend coronation ceremony of Britain’s King Charles III on May 6. In brief statement, Prime Minister said that two countries have been “Great friends” and that during trip, he would hold meetings with other world leaders.

Taking to micro-blogging platform, he tweeted: “Leaving for UK today to represent Pakistan at coronation ceremony of His Majesty King Charles III”. UK-Pakistan relations are rooted in shared history and multifaceted bonds that have grown stronger over decades. British monarch and royal family have been great friends of Pakistan.

“I will also use opportunity to attend Commonwealth leaders' summit as well as engage with other world leaders bilaterally,” Prime Minister added.
