PM lauds role of police in eradicating terrorism, ensuring law and order

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded role of police in eradicating terrorism from country and maintaining law and order. Addressing passing out parade of 48th Specialised Training Programme of Police Service of Pakistan at National Police Academy, he paid tribute to immense sacrifices rendered by police force in line of duty.
He expressed confidence that police would live up to expectations of people and would never refrain from any sacrifice to maintain law and order.
PM emphasised setting up a counter-terrorism centre and forensic laboratory in capital and urged working out a project in this regard. He mentioned that Counter-Terrorism Department and Punjab Science Agency were role model departments, which needed to be replicated in other parts of country.
He regretted that Pakistan despite being blessed with all resources lagged behind rest of world in area of progress and development. He reiterated government’s resolve to work for progress and development of country.
He informed participants that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud would soon be visiting Pakistan, adding that he has expressed willingness to support development projects in country.
He congratulated graduating officers and their parents. He lauded staff of academy for imparting required skills to all police officers.
Commandant National Police Academy Allah Dino Khawaja said 24 officers including seven lady officers passed out from academy. He said those officials who were passing out had been imparted training as per modern policing techniques and urged them to serve people professionally. PM distributed shields and medals among officers who secured distinction during course. He gave away an award to ASP Anum Sher for being overall best-performing under-training officer.
