PM lauds COAS Bajwa’s services for defence, geo-economics

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded services of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa for country, particularly in areas of defence, security and geo-economics. Expressing these views as outgoing COAS, who is scheduled to retired today paid a farewell call on him here at PM’s House.

Prime Minister acknowledged role of Army in eliminating menace of terrorism from soil of country.

“Under leadership of General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Army demonstrated exemplary services in effectively dealing with various challenges including country’s exclusion from Financial Action Task Force Grey List, Covid-19 endemic and recent flashfloods,” he said. Appreciating role of General Bajwa with regard to country’s geo-economics, he stressed that political leadership needed to demonstrate collective wisdom and sign charter of economy to ensure economic stability.

“You have honour of leading best army of world,” he said in his conversation with outgoing COAS, who will be handing over baton of command to General Asim Munir today as country’s next Army Chief.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa thanked PM Sharif on his government’s cooperation in carrying out national and official responsibilities. PM Shehbaz Sharif hosted luncheon in honour of General Qamar Bajwa.
