PM Kakar promises level playing field for all political parties

Islamabad: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar pledged fairness and equal opportunities for all parties in upcoming general elections.
In an interview with private channel, Kakar assured that all political parties will have an equal chance in upcoming general elections. He reaffirmed that all parties are permitted to hold rallies within bounds of law. Furthermore, interim premier emphasised that election date is set by Election Commission and consultation is essential.
“No political party has been prevented from holding meetings, as long as they adhere to law,” Kakar said.
Interim PM Kakar discussed plans to regulate situation of Afghan illegal immigrants, saying government assured migrants that rights of those with legal claims, including property and birth certificates, would be respected. Caretaker premier promised to take action against individuals involved in criminal activities. Kakar clarified government’s stance on events of May 9 and distinction between investigations and enforced disappearances.
He dismissed notion that actions taken after May 9 press conference resulted in prolonged case, highlighting significant difference between individuals detained for investigation and enforced disappearances. Security agencies have authority to conduct investigations as part of their duties,” he said.
