PM Kakar pledges to serve nation within ambit of responsibilities

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar said interim set-up had limited role but he would try his best to serve nation. He lauded his 24-member Cabinet team and said he was “Proud to have one of best teams”.  He condemned Jaranwala incident and said interim government would not support forces of darkness. Meeting was held at Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

Earlier, sources said overall economic and law and order situation in country would be reviewed  Addressing meeting held here in connection with working of SIFC, Prime Minister Kakar said caretaker government during its short tenure would fully devote all its energies to stability and progress of economy. He directed to harmonise regulatory structure with contemporary international requirements to improve energy sector. He said Pakistan had vast potential for foreign investment in fields of agriculture, mining and minerals, information technology, energy and defence production. During meeting, Secretary SIFC Jahanzeb Khan and Secretary Implementation Jameel Ahmed Qureshi briefed PM about steps taken to bolster foreign direct investment.

Meeting was further informed that under forum, government would provide one window facility to investors for different projects.

He appreciated efforts of Jahanzeb Khan and Jamil Ahmed Qureshi for bringing investment in country, adding SIFC would play vital role in improving economy. He said there was huge potential for foreign investment in infrastructure and tourism sectors.
