NEW YORK: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar met IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva here on sidelines of 78th UN General Assembly session. He expressed gratitude for approval of three billion dollars Stand-By Agreement by IMF to support Pakistan’s economy. 

Prime Minister Kakar said that strong focus has been placed on protecting vulnerable segments of society. Prime Minister briefed IMF Chief on various measures taken by caretaker government to stabilise and revive economy of country.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar affirmed that these initiatives aim to create stable and conducive environment for sustainable economic growth and investment.

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva appreciated concerted efforts of Pakistan in implementing policies and reforms to revive economy.

She assured that IMF remained committed to continue engagement with Pakistan.
