PM Kakar discusses socio-economic ties

Islamabad: EU Ambassador to Pakistan Riina Kionka called on Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar here. Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over positive trajectory of Pakistan-EU ties and lauded recent progress made in this regard. He emphasised that significant role of GSP Plus scheme in boosting Pakistan’s exports to European markets. He stressed need to continue GSP Plus scheme which serves interests of both Pakistan and EU.
Prime Minister said that his government was committed to safeguarding and upholding rights of all its citizens. He said that government would provide constitutional continuity till next general elections are held in country. EU Ambassador said that EU will continue to provide support to Government of Pakistan and work to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Meanwhile, Ambassador of Iran Reza Amiri Moghaddam called on Prime Minister. Underscoring close fraternal relations between two neighboring countries, Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to further strengthen and deepen these ties. He stressed need to focus on enhancing cooperation in economic and security domains.
Prime Minister highlighted that recent inauguration of Mand-Pishin Border marketplace would not only contribute to economic uplift of border areas but also serve as manifestation of collective commitment to work for betterment of two people.
Noting President Raisi’s policy of ‘Neighborhood First’ was fully aligned with Pakistan’s vision for regional development and connectivity, Prime Minister stressed importance for both countries to leverage their unique geographical location to promote shared objectives of regional peace and prosperity through greater trade and enhanced regional connectivity. Iranian Ambassador said that Iran was keen to build on recent positive trajectory of bilateral relationship, especially in areas of economy, energy and security.
