PM Kakar directs to accelerate execution of identified projects under SIFC

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar directed authorities concerned to accelerate realisation of identified projects by capitalising enabling environment already achieved through Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). Prime Minister was chairing 4th apex committee SIFC inaugural meeting under caretaker government to continue positive impetus under Council. Chief of Army Staff, Cabinet, chief ministers, provincial ministers and high-level government officials attended.
Meeting was given wholesome review of SIFC initiatives encompassing progress in key areas and benchmarks achieved thus far in short span of time.
Prime Minister appreciated efficient functioning of SIFC through collaborative “Whole of Government Approach” for achieving horizontal and vertical synergy. Apex committee appreciated SIFC’s outreach strategy to achieve global traction and ongoing engagements with brotherly / friendly countries including productive visits of high-level delegations from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Islamic Organisation for Food Security. Apex committee expressed confidence on SIFC initiatives and displayed its resolve and support in maintaining positive trajectory towards revival of country’s economy. Body endorsed projects, approved by previous government, for attracting investments in key sectors of agriculture, livestock, mining, minerals, information technology and energy.
Army Chief reaffirmed all-out support to caretaker government for continuity of policies in bid to revive country’s economy and steer Pakistan towards progress and prosperity. Meanwhile, caretaker PM will chair meeting of Cabinet today to discuss recommendations aim at providing relief to masses protesting higher electricity bills.
Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi said that Ministry of Energy had finalised recommendations related to electricity bills. Recommendations were finalised in high-level meeting held at Ministry of Energy, he said. He said recommendations would be forwarded to Cabinet for approval.
