PM forms relief fund for quake-ravaged Turkiye

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif set up relief fund for earthquake-stricken Turks and Syrians as quake left at least 5,000 people dead and scores of others injured and homeless. Members of Cabinet would donate their one-month pay to fund while civil servants of BPS 18-22 would donate their one-day pay to quake-stricken people.
According to Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), death toll climbed to 3,381 people in Turkiye and death toll in Syria stands at more than 1,500 according to Syrian government.

In tweet, he said, Solidarity should translate into tangible and timely material support for suffering humanity.” On other hand, multiple international and national organisations are heads-up to collect funds and material to ensure provision of humanitarian support to quake-hit masses.
Meanwhile, Alkhidmat Foundation, Save The Children Fund, International Rescue Committee, United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, Penny Appeal and many more NGOs have appealed for aid earthquake-stricken people.
