PM discusses wide array of mutually beneficial matters with Qatar Emir

DOHA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed wide array of mutually beneficial issues and exchanged views to further strengthen cooperation between two countries in diverse fields including in economic and investment sectors.

During meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz appreciated Qatar’s consistent support of development projects in Pakistan and highlighted vast opportunities for cooperation between two countries. Emir of Qatar lauded contributions of Pakistani manpower in his country’s development and especially referred to excellent performance of Pakistani security authorities during FIFA Football World Cup 2022 successfully hosted by Qatar, PM Office Media Wing said in press release. Both leaders also discussed further cementing of bilateral cooperation, investment, trade and sending further Pakistani skilled workers to Qatar. Qatari Emir welcomed Prime Minister and reiterated his keen interest in strengthening economic cooperation between Qatar and Pakistan.

He also reiterated his resolve to continue Qatar’s complete cooperation and support in development and progress agenda of Pakistan. Emir of Qatar accepted an invitation from prime minister to visit Pakistan. Earlier, Prime Minister arrived in Qatar on two-day official visit where he would participate in 5th United Nations conference on Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

Conference being held from March 5-9, 2023 will consider steps for accelerating sustainable development in least developed countries, helping them make progress on road to prosperity.
