‘PM discusses bilateral ties with world leaders in Türkiye’

ANKARA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his visit to Türkiye met with different world leaders and discussed bilateral ties and cooperation between Pakistan and their respective countries.
During meetings, he outlined government’s vision to facilitate foreign direct investment and encourage joint ventures. Exchanges spanned around expanding trade and investment ties to maximise mutual gains from available opportunities in Pakistan and enhance cooperation in key sectors of economy through direct presence of Turkish enterprises and via joint ventures with Pakistani counterparts.
He met former Deputy PM of Türkiye and Chairman MHP Devlet Bahceli and conveyed his felicitation over success in elections, PM Office Media Wing said in press release.
He also met with Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu. Both leaders reiterated their desire to promote bilateral relations and cooperation in different fields. He also interacted with Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber.
PM referred to establishment of market at Balochistan-Sistan Border and his recent meeting with Iranian President.
Welcoming commencement of barter trade between two countries, he expressed confidence that it would mutually benefit people of both brotherly countries.
In his meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, two leaders discussed regional cooperation, connectivity and further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in diverse fields.
Earlier PM invited Turkish businessmen to invest in Pakistan and establish strategic collaboration in sectors of energy, agriculture, information technology and construction.
Meanwhile, on World Environment Day, he said Pakistan on path to sustainable use of resources and has emphasised urgent need to combat plastic pollution under global theme ‘Beating Plastic Pollution.’ He emphasised Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to combat plastic pollution and embark on journey of plastics reduction. In demonstration of government’s commitment to reduce plastic waste in Pakistan, he directed PM House to stop using single-use plastics, which like Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination will lead way in phasing out and restricting use of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) bottles in ministries and divisions across board.
Prime Minister Shehbaz, after completing his two-day official visit to Turkiye, left for home. Senior officials of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Pakistan's Ambassador to Turkiye and other officials of the embassy saw off the prime minister and his delegation at the Ankara International Airport.
