PM directs to ensure timely, uninterrupted fertilizer supply for Rabi crop

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar directed authorities concerned to ensure timely and uninterrupted supply of fertilizer to farmers for Rabi crop. Chairing review meeting on provision of urea for Rabi crop, he instructed for timely arrangement of fertilizer's buffer stock.

He asked respective district administrations to keep strict vigilance on fertilizer prices.

Meeting was apprised of current production of fertilizer and expected demand. Participants were briefed about decisions of Economic Coordination Committee for uninterrupted provision of fertilizer.

PM instructed the relevant ministries to formulate comprehensive mechanism for smooth supply of fertilizer for Rabi crop. Meeting was also briefed about prices of fertilizer and its raw material and demand and supply for fertilizer factories.

Caretaker Ministers Gohar Ejaz, Kausar Abdullah Malik and Muhammad Ali, Advisor to PM Ahad Cheema and relevant senior officers attended meeting.

Meanwhile, caretaker PM Kakar and Planning Minister Sami Saeed in meeting here discussed implementation of projects concluded during Prime Minister’s recent visit to China.

During PM Kakar’s visit to China on October 16-20, two sides signed 20 agreements and MoUs, covering cooperation on Belt and Road Initiative, infrastructure, mining, industry, green and low-carbon development, health, space cooperation, digital economy, development cooperation and export of agricultural products to China. Meeting discussed matters relating to Ministry of Planning.
