PM calls for emulating Holy Prophet (PBUH)’s teachings on Islamic New Year

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on new Islamic year called upon nation to follow noble teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH) and his companions and emphasised importance of fostering society based on social justice and equality.
In his message marking start of Hijri year 1445, Prime Minister urged everyone to promote tolerance, understanding and respect for each other, regardless of their differences. He hoped for society that upholds principles such as compassion, equality and social justice.
Sharif extended warm greetings to nation and Muslim Ummah, praying that new Islamic year would bring peace, progress and prosperity to Pakistan and entire Muslim world. He prayed for ease and well-being of Muslims suffering around globe, particularly in Kashmir and Palestine, hoping they find peace and prosperity. Reflecting on historical significance of Islamic New Year, he mentioned sacrifice of family of Holy Prophet (PBUH) under leadership of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA). He acknowledged their unwavering stance against oppression and tyranny, considering their sacrifice an enduring example of courage and devotion to truth and justice.
PM Shehbaz underlined that events of past serve as reminder of values of compassion, justice and unity. He encouraged followers to stand against injustice and work towards creating society characterised by peace, harmony and coexistence.
PM expressed gratitude for alleviation of economic difficulties in Pakistan, attributing it to government’s hard work. He prayed for permanent eradication of economic problems and wished for Pakistan to flourish as hub of progress and prosperity, with entire nation united despite their differences.
Moreover, reiterating unflinching support to Kashmiri brethren, Prime Minister warned that South Asia would never be able to attain durable peace and unlock its true development potential until just and peaceful resolution of decades-old Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan. He made remarks as Kashmiris living across world are observing Accession to Pakistan Day with renewed commitment to fight Indian oppression and achieve their right to self-determination as guaranteed by United Nations Security Council resolutions.
