PM assures Turkiye envoy of all-out support post quake disaster

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured Turkish Ambassador Mehmet Paçaci that in testing times, government and people of Pakistan stood in strong solidarity with people of Turkiye. On visit to Turkish Embassy to express condolences over loss of life and property in devastating earthquake in Turkiye Prime Minister accompanied by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Economic Affairs Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq, Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarrar, Special Assistants to Prime Minister Attaullah Tarrar and Tariq Fatemi conveyed his condolences to Turkish Ambassador and prayed for victims of earthquake in Turkiye.
He reiterated that Pakistan will continue its rescue and relief efforts for Turkish brothers and sisters until last affected person was rehabilitated.
He highlighted relief efforts of Pakistan for earthquake victims of Turkiye. He told that Pakistan was sending winter tents, blankets, warm clothes and other essential items for people of Turkey. He also recorded his remarks in condolence book. Thanking Prime Minister and people of Pakistan, Ambassador said that they were touched by outpouring of sympathy and support from entire Pakistani nation.
moreover, PM summoned meeting of Cabinet which will mull over five-point agenda including economic situation in country.According to details, meeting of Cabinet will discuss several important matters ranging from economic situation to agreement with International Monetary Fund. Meeting will approve decisions taken by Economic Coordination Committee. Cabinet will also approve decisions of Cabinet Committee on legislation. It is expected to approve price of coronavirus vaccine. Reports regarding power breakdown and Toshakhana will be tabled in meeting.
Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan’s politics were ‘based on lies’ and were exposed by day. Taking to his official Twitter handle, incumbent premier stated, “Imran Niazi’s antics and somersaults continued to disappoint nation”. He furthered that only constant about former prime minister was his “Desperation” to return to power, even if it involved “Plunging country into a protracted period of instability”. Shehbaz’s comment came day after Imran took U-turn from his previous stance of US involvement in his ouster from power in April last year and instead blamed the former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa.
