PM asks int’l community to devise policy for economic justice

Paris: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif asked international community to devise policy for economic justice and fairness. Addressing New Global Financial Pact Summit in Paris France PM Shehbaz urged world countries to come forward in generous terms to formulate and provide an opportunity, system and mechanism to satisfy most vulnerable at minimum and create harmony in terms of economic justice and fairness to save world from trouble, quoted Radio Pakistan.
He said that unless we come out with fair, comfortable and judicious formula for distribution of financial resources, world will never be in peace. Giving details about destructions caused by climate-induced devastating floods in Pakistan, he said last year we had most devastating floods in Pakistan, which completely changed our lifestyle. He said now we have to cope up hundreds of millions of dollars from our pockets with our scar resources and provide money to flood-affected people of country. He expressed gratitude to friendly countries for their valuable and timely response and contribution. He said there are tensions around globe, but saving humanity from suffering is also essential.
He lauded UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres for visiting Pakistan to personally witness on-ground realities and visiting relief camps in different areas far-flung areas of Pakistan. He hailed French President Emanuel Macron for holding summit to highlight sufferings of developing countries due to impacts of climate change and poverty.
Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif met Special US Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry on sidelines of New Global Financing Pact Summit. He said being common problem, environmental issues required joint strategy and efforts. PM appreciated John Kerry and US administration for their priorities on environment-related issues.
John Kerry endorsed PM’s viewpoint of threats posed by climate change to developing world. Both leaders agreed to keep up contacts and consultation to carry out joint efforts for purpose.
Prime Minister also met President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi here wherein two leaders agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in multiple fields.
