Qambar-Shahdadkot: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said government decided to increase flood relief assistance under Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) from existing 28 billion to 70 billion rupees. Speaking during his visit at relief camp set-up in Qambar Shahdadkot, he said country witnessed unprecedented loss due to floods.

The 2.5 times increase in volume of assistance programme has been made in view of gross damages of infrastructure and crops in wake of flash floods. He said joint efforts at national level were need of hour to mitigate suffering of flood-affected people. Prime Minister appreciated efforts and work of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for people of Sindh.

He lauded dedication and services of Armed Forces that are busy in rescue and relief works all over country and also providing food and medical aid. He appealed to all media and other organisations to come forward and help their countrymen who are facing harsh times. He said this is not time for politics and said we need to join hands to get through these difficult times.
