Plea moved in SC against Rs100bln alleged bogus projects in Gujrat

ISLAMABAD: A petition had been moved to Supreme Court of Pakistan challenging approval of funds worth Rs 100 billion for Gujrat Division by Chief Minister Punjab.

Petition also prayed court to issue stay order against release of said funds till judgment in this case.

Petition alleged that Punjab government illegally allocated said budget against alleged bogus development schemes in constituency of CM Pervaiz Elahi. Allocation of said fund was violation of Article 120 and 124 of Constitution.

It further said that previously apex court had also declared approval of funds without permission of assembly as illegal. Chief Minister Office, it said was arranging record pertaining bogus development schemes. Petition prayed court to issue stay order against release of funds and order an investigation regarding said development projects worth billions of rupees for solely Gujrat.

Punjab government, Chairman NAB and others are made as respondents in case.
