Play ‘Shab Bakhir Maa’ presented at Pakistan Theatre Festival at Arts Council Karachi

Karachi: On 24th day of ongoing Pakistan Theatre Festival in Arts Council Karachi, play ‘Shab Bakhir Maa’ was presented, written by Marsha Norman and directed by Samina Nazir. Marsha Norman is an American playwright, screenwriter and novelist while cast of drama included Manal Siddiqui and Rachna Kirpalani, drama takes audience on journey into essence of existence where fundamental dilemma of choosing between existence and oblivion takes centre stage.

Story of play revolves around mother and daughter. In play, daughter named Sarah, fed up with her failed marriage, illness and society’s attitudes, decides to commit suicide. War breaks out, war breaks out between mother and daughter when daughter Sarah decided to commit suicide, this drama takes you on deep exploration, drama goes out to unravel complex layers of meaning of life, realistic performances of Manal Siddiqui and Rachana kirpalani in theatre highly appreciated by audience.
