PIA wins award at Karachi leadership conference

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was recognised for its outstanding contributions in field of social services, receiving prestigious CSR Award at Seventh 24th CSR Leadership Conference and Awards ceremony.
Event, attended by representatives from multinational corporations, banks and social circles, highlighted importance of corporate social responsibility in community. Sindh Labour Minister Saeed Ghani presented award to PIA spokesperson Abdullah H. Khan. Khan shared insights into PIA’s extensive CSR activities, emphasising airline’s commitment to social responsibility at macro level.
Earlier to this, newly established Pakistan Airports Authority convened its first Board of Directors meeting, with Secretary Aviation presiding as Chairman.
During meeting, Board approved service regulation structure for newly formed Authority, marking significant step in its operational framework. However, no decision was reached regarding pension issues of retired employees, leaving this critical matter unresolved.
Discussion is expected to continue in future meetings as Board works to address concerns of former employees.
