KARACHI: Hashmat Habib President Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Adlia said as reserved seats are concerned the Election Act 2017 has provided the remedy and clear declaration that under Rule-94 the expression 'political party' means a political party to which a symbol has been allocated by Commission. Therefore, independent returned candidates are not entitled to have share in reserved seats. In fact at present PTI is not a political party thus their claim belonging to PTI will not be beneficial to them.

Photoshopped Form-45, reserved seats of women and minorities and abuse of authority by Election Staff are serious issues and enough to dispute the general elections, therefore, thorough inquiry and stern action is required.

Senior lawyer expressed his views in the prevailing situation and said it is general complaint that Form-45 which is basic evidence are mostly tempered and Photoshopped to benefit one party while the political motivated lawyers are bent upon to confuse the people on unwanted media talks.

He said the results in Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa reflect that allegations being leveled against the election staff are such that the entire elections may be declared void or recounting of each election must be done so that the culprits must be brought to justice.

Hashmat Habib said under Section-56 of Act all the election officials shall take Oath before the commencement of elections duty as provided under Form-27 which is identical to the Oath of Judges, President, PM and all other persons holding Constitutional positions. If any such officer found involved in breach of their Oath he can also be prosecuted. He said elections are held, the results may be taken in a positive way and all the complaints must be resolved immediately under the law.
