Petitions challenging PTI’s intra-party election validated as maintainable

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission (EC)  has declared maintainable the petitions seeking nullification of intra party election of PTI besides fixing the hearing  of these pleas on December 12.  14 petitions were received in EC  seeking nullification of intra party election of PTI. 

Akbar S Babar and other former PTI office bearers while dubbing the intra party election farce have demanded for transparent intra party election. A five members bench of EC presided over by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja took up the petitions with reference to PTI intra party election for hearing Friday. The  counsel for Akbar S Babar told the EC no schedule was given before PTI intra party election. Voters lists too were not issued. No activity has taken place in PTI central secretariat with regard to intra party election. Therefore, the election be declared null and void.  The counsel requested EC to nullify these election and order for holding intra party election again.  Member commission said forget it  that intra party election will  be held again.  We had asked for transparent election.
