Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s ultimatum to federal government has led to breakthrough in reducing electricity load-shedding in KP.
Following meeting with Pesco officials, new schedule has been agreed upon, reducing load-shedding from 22 hours to 18 hours and 18 hours to 14 hours.
Chief Minister had given deadline to federal government to address issue, warning that he would take over grid station if problem persisted.
However, after Pesco’s assurances, matter has been resolved and new schedule will be implemented soon.
After agreement, Ali Amin Gandapur emphasised that provincial government is willing to work with federal government to resolve electricity-related issues but stressed that immediate relief for people of KP is essential.
He criticised federal government for increasing electricity prices from Rs 16 to Rs. 65 per unit without ensuring stable power supply.
Moreover, new schedule will be monitored by Deputy Commissioners and DPOs across province and any deviation from schedule will result in an FIR against concerned Pesco operator.
KP CM has invited Energy Minister to discuss electricity-related issues and find permanent solution to problem.
