PESHAWAR: Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader and Defence Minister Pervez Khattak formed his political party after parting with PTI. Party has been named Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (Parliamentarians) and Khattak will be its head.

According to reports, many bigwigs from KP including former Chief Minister Mehmood Khan will be part of PTI Parliamentarians.  Earlier, Khattak had expedited contacts with several political leaders and there were reports that he was also in contact with both PML-N and PPP.  Meeting was chaired by Khattak in which 57 former MNAs and MPAs hailing from PTI participated to formulate future strategy. Incidents of May 9 were severely condemned during maiden meeting of PTI Parliamentarians.

Meanwhile, Khattak questioned why his former party had wasted several opportunities for general elections, apparently referring to negotiations between coalition government and PTI prior to violent events of May 9 which eventually led to weakening of party.

Do we want to walk path of democracy or path of anarchy? he asked. Khattak also questioned reasons behind PTI failure to accept election results. “It must be asked why PTI refused to acknowledge results of elections and why we are still heading towards turmoil he said. He said that reasons for PTI’s refusal to accept elections remain mystery. “When this mystery unravels, everyone’s eyes will be opened to true nature of PTI’s agenda, he added.
