Perpetrators of Bishkek riots will be punished, vows Kyrgyz FM

ASTANA: Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev said that government has taken swift action to restore law and order in country, vowing to punish perpetrators of mob riots in Bishkek.
He made assurance during his meeting with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Astana.
Kulubaev expressed resolve for safety and security of Pakistani students and full facilitation for safe repatriation of students who wish to return to Pakistan. Meeting focused on recent developments in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and welfare of Pakistani nationals there.
Dar shared feelings of insecurity and fear among Pakistani students and requested Foreign Minister Kulubaev to ensure their safety and security. He requested for holding to account those responsible for attacks on Pakistani students.
He thanked Foreign Minister Kulubaev for ensuring much needed health and security assistance being provided to Pakistani students. Both expressed satisfaction at progress of established bilateral institutional mechanisms.
