PEC holds seminar to create awareness about environmental issues

KARACHI: Pakistan Excellence Club’s Excellence Climate Change and Environmental Protection Committee held comprehensive seminar in connection world environment Day at Karachi Gymkhana.

Hameed Bhutto Chairman Pakistan Excellence Club, Khalid Umer President, Zafar Iqbal Mughal Vice President and Muhammad Nasir Khan General Secretary along with guest speakers, prominent philanthropist Dr Asma Muhammad Ali Shah and others addressed seminar.Abdul Salam Dadabhoy, Saleem Khan, Muhammad Riaz Soomro, Salman Mujahid, Rizwan Lodhi, Azhar Zia, Jam Shafiq, Ismail Qamar, Sanaullah Memon were also present.Speakers said that green Pakistan, free from environmental pollution is actually guarantee of our development and prosperity.  We can reduce pressure of current air density, only by planting as much greenery as possible, for which taking an active part in national duty.Create awareness among young generation about importance of green environment is vital. Asma Muhammad Ali Shah of Asghar Ali Shah Foundation and promoter of wheel-chair cricket and other sports appealed to Pakistanis, especially students and young generation to contribute to green Pakistan campaign by planting trees.

She said, also working with CPK in connection with tree plantations drives in schools, colleges and city areas. Speakers said, in order to deal with climate change, we should fulfill responsibility of planting saplings as well as taking care of them.
