PCMD inks MoU with Ziauddin University

KARACHI: The Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), part of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) at the University of Karachi, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the College of Molecular Medicine, Ziauddin University.
The agreement aims to foster collaboration between the two institutions, facilitating academic exchanges of faculty and students, and sharing academic and research information. The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Farzana Shaheen, Director of ICCBS, University of Karachi, and Prof. Talat Mirza, Principal of the College of Molecular Medicine and Executive Director of Research, at a meeting held at the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. From ICCBS Prof. Dr. Asmat Salim, Prof. Dr. Shabana Simjee, Prof. Dr. Syed Ghulam Musharraf, among others, attended the ceremony.Representatives from Ziauddin University included Dr. Shumaila Usman and Dr. Aisha Ishaque.
During the event, Prof. Dr. Farzana Shaheen commended both institutions on the execution of the agreement. She highlighted ICCBS as a leading center of excellence in chemical, biological, and biomedical sciences, offering high-quality education and research opportunities to scholars from around the world. She stated that the PCMD adheres to international and national standards to ensure top-tier education. Prof. Talat Mirza praised the research and academic contributions of the Dr. Panjwani Center emphasized Ziauddin University’s commitment to academic excellence and research. She described Ziauddin University as a prestigious institution with diverse faculties working in various disciplines having memberships in international organizations.
Both institutions agreed to collaborate on joint research initiatives, faculty exchanges, workshops, training sessions, seminars, and conferences involving faculty and students. More collaborative programs will be initiated with further discussions.
