Islamabad: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is facing unexpected delay in their search for the new head coach of the Men in Green.
The new regime at PCB, led by Chairman Najam Sethi, has decided against renewing the contract of current head coach, Saqlain Mushtaq, and bowling coach, Shaun Tait. Earlier, they had also disbanded the selection committee headed by Mohammad Wasim.
On the other hand, PCB is also undergoing a ring of changes. Khayyam Qaisar, who had previously served as an advisor of Sethi in his last tenure, is now the head of Human Resources. Previous head of HR, Serena Agha had left the position after the ousting of Ramiz Raja as PCB chairman.
Naila Bhatti has also been appointed as the new PSL commissioner. Despite Bhatti’s appointment, Usman Wahla will continue to work as the league’s director. PCB is also preparing to replace Sami Burney with Amjad Hussain Bhatti as PCB’s Director Media. Although, Burney had agreed to a significant decrease in his pay, but PCB have sent him a message to start looking for a new job.
PCB is looking to restore the 2014 constitution and under that there is no role for Chief Executive, Faisal Hasnain. However, Faisal is also ready for salary reduction and to work in a different position in PCB.
