PCB discloses monthly salaries of Pakistani cricketers

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made public the information of the players’ remuneration through their central contracts.
The announcement came amidst the team receiving criticism after they were eliminated early from the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. It also emerged that the board is thinking of modifying the players’ central contracts. Due to subpar performances, certain players are predicted to be relegated, while others may lose their central contracts completely.
According to the details, Category A players, which include Babar, Rizwan and star pacer Shaheen Afridi, are paid Rs4.5 million per month. Meanwhile, Shadab Khan, Fakhar Azman, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah are paid Rs3 million per month in Category B. Category C players are paid between Rs750,000 to Rs1.5 million per month and include players such as Imad Wasim. Meanwhile, Category D players are also paid the same as Category C and include Iftikhar Ahmed, Hasan Ali, Saim Ayub and others. The figures above only account for the monthly wages of the players who receive sponsorship benefits in addition to match fees, win bonuses, and income from all three forms of cricket (Test, ODI, and T20I).
