Parties should sit together to change accountability system: Khaqan Abbasi

KARACHI: Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that all political parties should sit together to change current accountability system in country. Khaqan Abbasi talking to media here said that long march was being held to influence appointment of Army Chief but that matter was also completed amicably. He said that in country accountability is discussed in public gatherings but this system is destroying country.

He said, "If cases are made against government officials, no officer will be ready to work and no one will be safe from so-called accountability of National Accountability Bureau (NAB)." He said that none of cases during former Chairman NAB's tenure have been completed, but there is need to abolish NAB institution and create new system. He said that Imran Khan has been on journey for month but he has not yet reached Islamabad. He, however said, "If Imran Khan stays within law, we will welcome him and otherwise Rana Sanaullah will welcome him." Earlier, Khaqan Abbasi and other accused appeared in court for hearing on reference of illegal recruitment in PSO. During hearing, lawyer of accused said that application related to NAB amendment is under hearing in Supreme Court.
