Participation of students, public in ‘Clean, Green drive’ in District Central good omen: PPP leader

Karachi: Information Secretary of Pakistan Peoples’ Party Central District Sardar Shahzad Majeed along with Municipal Commissioner Shamoona Sadaf visited Gharibabad. He planted sapling near Furniture Market. He appreciated ten-day ‘Clean and Green’ campaign initiated by Central Municipality (Mini Urban Forest). Focal person Clean and Green Campaign Hasan Abbas and officials were present.  Shehzad Majeed said that Deputy Commissioner and Administrator Taha Saleem’s efforts are praiseworthy for organising Clean and Green drive.

He also praised Shamoona Sadaf’s efforts in this regard. It is good omen including school students in Clean and Green campaign. Children are architects of future and we can achieve lasting results by providing awareness about work to them. He said that every person wants trees in city. He said that planting tree is charity and everyone should plant tree and participate in this work. Protecting environment from pollution by planting plants and trees is common responsibility of all of us. He said that purpose of establishing urban forests in this event is to provide people with pleasant environment and free from pollution. We are trying to create green society which includes serving people without discrimination. Our first priority is to provide basic facilities to people while staying within legal framework. Establishing mini-urban forest in which 600 trees have been planted under Clean and Green programme will provide healthy environment to people.
